The 2022 Christmas Celebration included performances by all classes. The students were involved in singing, poem reciting, playing games and also dancing.
The SGLS choir with students from Preschool to grade 4 sang the traditional German Christmas songs “O Tannenbaum” and “Kling-Glöckchen”.
Constantin (G2) recited the poem “Advent, Advent” and Porsha (G2) “Im Winter, wenn es schneit before the E5/6/7/8 were singing “Lasst und froh und munter sein”.
The G3/G4 class were sending Christmas wishes to everyone before Heidi (G4) played the piano with “Angels we have heard on high” and at the end again “Silent Night”.
The G7/8 were reciting the poems “Knecht Ruprecht” and “Weihnachten” followed by the older students from G3/4, E3/4, G5/6 and G7/8 singing the well-known Rolf Zuckowski song “Es schneit”.
The G1/2 and G5/6 were entertaining the crowds with some funny Christmas jokes.
Now it got serious as the DSD 2 Prep class were conducting a Christmas Stadt-Land-Fluss (City-Country-River) Game with audience members.
The entire audience got moving with the “Klausgeschichte” by the DSD 1 class.
A new exciting dance had everyone on their feet as Kindergarten teacher Anett Roland inspired all to dance along to the German version of the song “All I want for Christmas”.

It looks like a new tradition has started at the Christmas Fest this year 🎄
The Dance-A-Long to “All I want for Christmas” in German seemed to be the hit with teachers and students alike. 🎅🏽 🕺🏻 💃 🎅🏽
Thank you to Kindergarten teacher Anett Roland for bringing great moves to the stage!
