Spirited Christmas Celebration and Bazaar

The spirit of Christmas came alive at our school during this year’s festive Christmas celebration and annual German market. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our school board, dedicated administrator Nathalie Currie, and a team of enthusiastic family volunteers, the event was again a great success. A huge “danke” to everyone who made it possible!

After getting a first glimpse of the  festive vibes of the market, attendees gathered in the theater for a wonderful Christmas performance. Our talented students, supported by their incredible teachers, put on quite a show.

A warm welcome by Principal Axel Rechlin and President Tilmann Glimm, who proudly welcomed Consul General Marc Eichhorn and his wife to our celebration in the theatre which was filled to the last seat.

Every class took the stage, from our youngest students to the adult classes. Singing German Christmas songs, reading poems and Christmas stories, playing instrumental pieces and even telling holiday jokes that filled the theatre with joy and laughter.
A true highlight was the Austria Vancouver Club Melody Choir, who delivered a beautiful and masterful Christmas performance.

The foyer turned into a true Christmas bazaar with delicious smells everywhere. Hot dogs, classic German Currywurst (a crowd favorite!), fresh waffles and happy faces all around.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of Freybe, who donated all the sausages. A huge THANK YOU to Freybe for keeping everyone well fed.

Upstairs, the waffle team was working nonstop baking fresh waffles and adding even more sweetness to the day.
So many volunteers stepped up to make this happen, and it truly showed. Great food, great teamwork, great community.

After the theatre performances, the kids jumped right into the craft corner, creating ornaments and decorating cookies like little pros.
From the first floor, the sound of choir singing floated down, adding the perfect soundtrack to the afternoon.
Consul General Marc Eichhorn and his wife took time to enjoy the warm German community atmosphere and connect with our teaching staff, making the celebration feel extra special

What would a Christmas Bazaar be without beautiful treasures to discover? This year’s vendor lineup was truly something special.

From Pauline’s Thermomix tasting station, Sheila’s Favourite Treasures with handcrafted glass ornaments, Antje’s Enchanted Gems jewelry, to Cristina’s cozy knits. We also loved the festive creations by Lady Bug Design, Kiyomi’s adorable hand-crocheted dolls, and a table full of fabulous ceramic Christmas gnomes that stole many hearts.

So much talent, creativity and holiday spirit all in one place. Thank you to all our amazing vendors for being part of our Christmas bazaar magic

Volunteers, teachers, and even the Consul General and his wife gathered afterward to share some holiday cheer, making it a truly joyous occasion.

This year’s celebration highlighted the spirit of togetherness that defines our school community.

As we look forward to the holiday break, we wish all our students and families a *Frohe Weihnachten* and a wonderful start to the New Year! See you in January!
